a boy and his droid

Anyone who knows me for longer than five seconds knows I'm somewhat of a Star Wars fan. In fact, I'm not ashamed to admit that last summer my brother and I went to Wal-Mart at midnight to check out the new toys they had released for the Clone Wars series.

(Please allow me a brief digression: We purchased maybe one or two action figures apiece. This, however, was nothing compared to shopping carts full of toys that other fans -- who I might add were 15-20 years older than Matt and I -- had purchased. Making fun of other Star Wars fans is almost just as fun as being a Star Wars fan.)

Naturally, my old man knows of my love for said films. For Christmas this year he bought me my very own astromech droid. While he's somewhat smaller than the original R2-D2, he's just as sassy and lovable as everyone's favorite R2 unit.

The other night I was bored so I whipped out the camera and snapped some shots of the little guy.

Here he is bringing me a Dr. Pepper. You're so thoughtful, R2!

He's just too fast for my shutter.

This one turned out blurry but blurry is cool.

They grow up so fast . . .

I love you, R2!

  5. that is so heartwarming.

I don't think i've ever seen star wars. well not the original trilogy at least. I've seen the one with Jar Jar binks for sure, and one where anikin is grown up. But never the whole series.

  6. Just so everyone is clear, I was friends with R2-D2 first. Getting you a Dr. Pepper? Try him sending urgent messages to Obi-Wan Kenobi for me.(http://www.blogcdn.com/www.cinematical.com/media/2007/05/starwars1.jpg).

P.S. Please give this message to him: "Beeeop weerup. Bop buhp, dhwirip." It's NBD but I can speak to him in his language (If you want, you can too: http://www.r2d2translator.com/).

Katherine: I am a little concerned for your life right now. You better watch the rest of them before you see Myke next or he may sick R2 on you.
